OVERVIEW
I joined ZS Associates as one of the founding product designers working on ZAIDYN, a cloud-native AI-powered platform designed to help life sciences organizations manage data, generate insights, and support strategic decision-making.
At the time, the product was rapidly evolving from an MVP into a scalable enterprise platform, requiring the design team to deliver new features while simultaneously building foundational UI patterns and workflows.
The Challenge
ZAIDYN was growing quickly, but the design process was still evolving.
Key challenges included:
• A rapidly expanding MVP with accelerated sprint timelines
• No established design system or shared UI components
• Designers working across multiple product areas with limited alignment
• Enterprise workflows and large data sets were highly complex and required ongoing support
The team needed to move quickly while building a consistent and scalable product experience.
My Approach
As a Senior Product Designer, I focused on delivering high-quality UI solutions while helping establish stronger design foundations for the team.
My work included:
• Collaborating with UX designers to translate wireframes into polished UI designs
• Partnering with product managers and engineering to ensure feasibility and alignment during sprint cycles
• Contributing to early versions of the ZAIDYN design system and UI component library
• Helping establish more consistent design practices across product teams
These efforts improved design consistency and enabled faster iteration across multiple feature areas.
KEY DESIGN FEATURES
Segmentation
The Segmentation feature helps users create strategic customer segments to support data-driven sales planning and resource allocation.
Key capabilities include:
• Automated data validation
• Integration with CRM, MDM, and customer profiling systems
• Secure access controls and governance
• Tools for managing complex segmentation logic
Roster Management
The Roster feature allows organizations to manage deployment teams and product assignments across global regions.
The interface includes an interactive hierarchy tree that allows users to restructure team assignments directly within the UI, making it easier to manage large organizational structures.
Alignment Insights
Alignment tools provide users with detailed insights into regional team performance and healthcare network coverage.
Users can access interactive summary drawers that display:
• Local team performance metrics
• Geographic work unit comparisons
• Customer landscape insights
• Regional healthcare network data
Reporting Tools
The reporting suite enables teams to generate detailed analytics across work units, employees, and alignment structures.
One key capability, Non-Contiguity Reporting, allows users to create reports across complex geographic areas by selecting multiple teams and work units for custom analysis and export.
OUTCOME
The ZAIDYN platform continued to expand rapidly following its MVP launch, becoming a core product offering within ZS’s life sciences technology portfolio. My work contributed to the development of key features while helping establish a stronger UI foundation for the platform’s continued growth.
Reflection
Working on ZAIDYN required adapting quickly to an evolving product environment while balancing speed and design quality. Contributing to both feature development and early design system foundations helped the team move toward a more consistent and scalable product experience.
