Designed a patient-focused digital experience that simplifies how DuPage Medical Group patients access care, appointments, and essential healthcare information.
OVERVIEW
I partnered with Punchkick Interactive to lead the redesign of the DuPage Medical Group website, one of the largest independent physician networks in the Midwest. The goal was to modernize the platform and create a more intuitive experience for patients searching for providers, services, and appointment scheduling.
The Challenge
The existing website had grown difficult to navigate and no longer supported the needs of its users. Key issues included:
•  Cluttered content and inconsistent navigation
•  Outdated interface and fragmented site structure
•  Difficult physician search and location discovery
•  A complex appointment scheduling process
•  Physician profile pages lacking organization and clarity
Adding to the complexity, the organization was undergoing a full brand transition from DuPage Medical Group to Duly Health and Care, requiring the design team to create flexible UI solutions without finalized brand guidelines.

My Approach
Working closely with the Punchkick team and the client, I helped establish a new UX framework focused on clarity, accessibility, and task completion.
Key areas of focus included:
•  User research revealed a majority of visitors—primarily ages 35–78—accessed the site on mobile, leading to a mobile-first experience
•  A clearer information hierarchy was designed to help users quickly find providers, services, and locations
•  A reusable component library was created to support evolving brand guidelines and maintain design consistency across the platform
We also conducted competitive research across healthcare platforms to identify best practices for provider discovery, scheduling, and patient resources.
KEY DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
Streamlined Homepage Experience
The homepage was redesigned to prioritize the most common patient tasks and reduce friction.
•  Prominent CTAs for MyChart login, bill pay, physician search, and scheduling
•  Simplified content organization and clearer navigation
•  Improved resource discovery for patients seeking health information and services
Improved Provider Discovery
Finding the right physician was a major pain point in the previous experience.
•  Redesigned physician search and listing pages
•  Enhanced filtering and location-based search
•  Structured provider information to help patients make confident decisions
Physician Profile Redesign
The physician profile page became a central hub for patient decision-making.
•  Tabbed content structure for improved hierarchy and readability
•  Organized sections for education, affiliations, publications, and patient reviews
•  Integrated scheduling module allowing users to view availability and book appointments directly from the profile page
Location and Services Navigation
Given the large healthcare network, location discovery of services was significantly improved.
•  Dedicated Health Topics and Services sections to help users explore care options more easily
•  Interactive map-based location finder for Events, Specialty Services and Immediate Care locations
Design System
To support the new UI, we developed a flexible and scalable set of reusable components. With Duly’s branding refresh still in progress, the design system was built to accommodate evolving visual guidelines, allowing for efficient updates across all design files and reducing the need for rework as the brand direction became clearer.
OUTCOME
The redesigned platform delivered a significantly improved user experience, making it easier for patients to find providers, explore services, and schedule care.
Following project completion, the organization expanded its rebrand and relaunched as Duly Health and Care, with the new site serving as the foundation for their updated digital presence.
Reflection
This project marked my first time collaborating with a digital agency on a large-scale client engagement. Working alongside Punchkick’s team strengthened my ability to balance client communication, iterative design, and complex UX challenges while delivering a cohesive product experience.
